Big apple
I'm in NY to meet with some of my fabulous editors, shop and and see some friends. After being stuck on a plane for three hours with nothing but diet Sprite , however, one thing is at the forefront of my mind: food. (Although I have to admit, it was mildly amusing when the flight attendant got on and said "Since we are grounded and know you all must be hungry, we will be breaking open our 'Flight Grounded' box which consists of...(dramatic pause)...granola bars."
I'm heading out for Greek food but tomorrow, I need my traditional giant hot pretzel, marking me as a tourist as much as a camera and neck craning upward. Or maybe I'll get those hot cashews coated in crack...I mean sugar. Help me decide - huge salty pretzel or sugary sweet nuts? I'm PMSing so both could work...
I'll take your suggestions under advisement.
xo!

Thanks for your great blog! I really enjoy it.
I would suggest the pretzel!
I've never had either, but both said delish!
Get the pretzel. You can get roasted nuts almost anywhere, but how often do you get the chance to have an authentic New York pretzel?!?!
nuts, all the way. preferably cashews. the pretzels are usually stale and have, on average, 1-3 erratically placed grains of salt per giant pretzel. on a non-food note: are said friends not as "fabulous" as said editors? just, you know, curious!
As a real old Bronxite, I definitely recommend the pretzel which when dipped in some Greek mavrodaphne wine is absolutely the best. It might be a bit much if you would want to polish that off with a little "ouzo".
as a new yorker i say the nuts smell fantatsic but the taste is a bit of a let down, go with the pretzel or my absoloute favorite new york street snack is the donuts from the cart with a coffee. - plain cruller.
OMG, are you kidding me? HAVE BOTH!!!!
Yes, Ruby, my friends ARE fabulous! Why do you ask?
Look for a new post on NY goings-on!
